Another updated version of the XCP Firmware for SPARC Enterprise M3000/M4000/M5000/M8000/M9000 Servers is now available for download on the Sun Download Center. We have changed the downloads a bit to make them more specific to the various entry level, form-facter and enterprise server families. The Firmware Release History and Download table on BigAdmin has been updated with the new download links.

XCP 1091 provides many enhancements and additional functionality. Please refer to the Sun SPARC Enterprise M3000/M4000/M5000/M8000/M9000 Servers XSCF User’s Guide for instructions on how to Install and Upgrade your system to a newer release of XCP.

This firmware update is recommended for all customers.

  1. Hello,

Do you know if there is an alternate web site where I can download latest SunFire T1000 firmware as I don’t have a Customer Support Identifier in Oracle web site?

I’m learning Solaris and trying to run parallel programming techniques in a SunFire T1000, but the used machine I bought has a 2006 firmware that needs upgrade.

    Thanks,
    Robson.

    • You must have a service contract or warranty to access the latest updated firmware releases for the servers.

  2. Looks like there is a bug in this version where setmailreport recipients and setsmtp replyaddresses don’t allow the “+” sign in the e-mail address field. Opened a service request, we’ll see what happens. Looking at the RFC, the + character is acceptable for a mail recipient addresses. I’m hoping they will fix for the next release :-)
